The woman named as Polina pictured here in photos 6-10 contacted me through singlesnet.com. She posed as a young woman from the Chicago area. Then told me in her first email that she was from Russia. She is using elbat_1980@yanzex.net as her current email address as of Dec 2007 and calling herself Elena. She has apparently been working the internet for at least a couple of years because I found reports of her on other sites with comments dating back to 2005. She has honed her craft since she started. She must be working less victims at a time because she is getting better at responding to questions. She still however makes the typical mistakes that throw up the red flags. She is listed on a blacklist I found as working visa and travel scams.

I apparently was a victim also except that we wrote letters back and forth for over a month every day. the emotions got stronger and stronger each letter. I felt very sincere about her love for me. I sent her money to get to moscow through western union and she felt ashamed asking for it but i was figuring on helping her get to me anyway. then she said she was going to buy a one way ticket to america and because she was coming on a tourist visa that she needed a roundtrip ticket. i sent her more money to cover the difference. and now the kicker, she said that in order for her to come her she now needed to show $30 per day spending money or 2700.00 which she said she would return as soon as she arrived here. i then started looking into her validity by request of friends and family. I googled her name and and found out that she is listed as a one of many russian woman scammers. what i cant figure is why she wrote so many love letters with so much feeling before she asked for money. she is very beautiful and very convincing.

Yes, I too recieved an email through yahoo personals. I thought I'd pursue it, for the fun of it and because it seemed it couldn't be true. She is quite charming with the broken English at first. Then, Western Union came into play, that's when I knew a scam was approaching. Lovely girl, but too rich for my fancy!

did she have to become a member of yahoo personals to get your name? and if so,why doesn`t yahoo screen personals from russian women since this is such a problem?

She contacted me a few weeks ago.Same letters, names.I called a shop in Elabuga to send her flowers and they told me the zip code was no good. She then said it was no good to send her a gift by mail because the mail system is very poor but she would like me to sen her a gift of money through Western Union.Thats when the sirens start going off in my head.Someone at Western Union told me it was probably a scam and gave me the scammer link. And there she was.
