# Name:      Polina Dubrovina

# E-mail:     sopkat@mail.ru

# Address:  Russia , Elabuga

# Dangerous: 32%

# Details: She contacted me through the Yahoo Personals which is a big red flag. Her letters immediately fell into the pattern of a scammer.

  1. In her first letter she said her sister, Irina, married an Italian named Luigi. However, she was a distant sister and rarely spoke to her (but she knew they were happy)

  2. Second Letter: Only answered one direct question at the beginning of the letter. The body was all form letter. She also mentioned that she had lunch with her friend, Irina, who married an Italian named Luigi. I asked if Irina was her sister or friend. She never clarified that.

  3. Third Letter: Told me the mailing system was very poor so I should not mail anything to her (setup to use Western Union later). She began to tell me that she constantly dreams about me and people notice her change in attitude.

  4. Sends a picture with every email.

  5. Talked to her parents and they approve of me. They always sent their greeting to me too.

At this point, I figured I'd turn the table and profess my dying love for her. She immediately told me that she would talk to Irina to see how we could be together. She asked for $875 for an airline ticket to be sent Western Union so she could pay for it.

Details: We corresponded from Oct 16, 2006 till now and still corresponding. She asked me for 2000$ but when I said I would visit her, she knew the scam was not going to work. So, she said that she needed 600 euro dollar to make invitation paper to visit her. Since when does a Canadian or American need an invitation to visit a country?
