Comment from Dameon

You are correct dear Lady - but I would doubt if she would respond to any of the men here. Perhaps she might be more inclined to chat with you on e-mail. Maybe you can explain to her that you are an advocate for women's rights in Russia and FSU countries and is looking to protect those women who's photos have been stolen by unscrupulous people who have used the pictures for illegal purposes. I know she would not answer an e-mail from someone with my name.

Comment from Russian lady

Thanks for your kind words! :-) So, the full name coincides? But it can be a simple coincidence as well. Just as well as scam. This is really 50/50, right? Why not contact the lady in question then and ask her about this? If she's for real, she will be able to send her passport copy to the administrator of the site and then he will remove the posting. If this is a scammer with someone' photos, it will be harder to explain.

Comment from Dameon

Well it is definitley the same name with totally different pictures. I corresponded with a scammer using the pictures that are posted on Womenrussia. Those pictures are also posted somewhere on this site. A different name was being used then. This only proves that many of these posting are scammers using stolen photos. There is obviously some scammer using this name and there could be many reasons for this. It could be the actual name of the scammer. Or it is the name of a woman who goes to collect the money from WU for the organized scammer group. Although, I am sure that there are many women who have the same name and it is possible that this is just a coincidence, I would be very wary of this person. I am sorry Dear Russian Lady - there are too many questions regarding this posting. I cannot see a reason to fight to have it removed at this time. And I know that our dear Web Administrator keeps an eye on all these postings. If she felt that there was some concerns regarding this being a legitiamte posting, whe would have done some reviewing herself and then posted the question to her immediate supervisors. It is why I like this site - they are attached to a dating agency that endorces the Anti-Scam movement. They are not here just to make anyone's life miserable. But I do love your input.

Comment from Mike

Did you check out the report on her at http://www.womenrussia.com/blackpage463.htm? Certainly looks to me like she is a scammer.

Comment from Dameon

As always, you make sense Dear Lady and I am not sure what to make of this one. I will be the first to fight to have someone removed if they do not belong here. And I wish Berny would come back and attach some of the letters he received. BUt I still have a strange feeling about this one and I have not been wrong yet. But I hope she is legitimate.

Comment from Russian lady

Well, Dameone, I don't know. I just believe that there are no any real proofs that the photos do not belong to the actual lady, or that she is real but dishonest. I mean, that if you and I will base our judgements about people based not on true facts, but just on what we feel, then every second person will seem to us a murderer, liar and a cheater (while they are innocent, in fact). Do you understand, what I mean?

Comment from Dameon

As always, Dear Russian Lady, you make a great deal of sense. But there is still something that is not right with these pictures. I cannot be sure, but I would almost bet the house on it. And that would be Roamer's house. Where is Berny?

Comment from Russian lady

To Mike: 1.Q. Is the photohrapher her boyfriend? A. Mike, when you go to the photo-studio, does the photographer necessarily have to be your boyfriend (girlfriend)? It's the same service as you get when you come to the shop, supermarket, restaurant, etc: "service - payment" type. They take your photos (service) - and you give them money (payment) for that. 2.Q. Does she have any pictures where she isn't posing purposefully? A. She might - probably something taken during some party with a bottle, red eyes, disheveled hair and hugging a group of people - each Russian person has some photos like that. I am sure many Western people do too. :-) Don't you? A normal girl would send a photo like that only to someone she has already met and probably has very close relationship with.

"Smiking", Que ?? Literal translations !! Good grief, Sikmik, you can't even read the backwards ones...chuckle. :) Write to THE sheila and ask her for heaven's sake....straight to the horse's mouth, as it were. :)

Maybe I should have asked.....1. Is the photohrapher her boyfriend? 2. Does she have any pictures where she isn't posing purposefully? I just love literal translations! :)

Comment from Russian lady

And, specially to Mike: 1. Who was taking the picture of this person. Photographer was! 2. Why is this person posing? Wants to meet a nice man. :-)

Comment from Russian lady

Gentlemen, thanks to all for your kind words. My English is not perfect, but who is? :-) Now about photos, let me explain smth. for you. First of all, you should know that reputable marriage agencies (yes, this is where ladies are all real, and yes, there are such agencies), often will require from a girl to have a set of her professional photos done before she can apply for their services. They often don't care who the photographer is, as long as the lady can show the photos where she looks very pretty (and yes, the photos can be photoshopped by the photographer sometimes, so be careful about that). This is the kind of photos that the agency will be eager to publish, as they know it will pay them off. AND: It's not the goal for a lady to show herself "in the natural setting". It's much more important to show the best features she possesses: beautiful figure, big eyes or pretty hair, whatever each lady has. And you can't really do that with your home photos taken by a low-resoultion camera. We do not want to be seen after the party with crazy eyes (like some men send to girls), with disheveled hair or sweating at work. It's important to communicate our best image first, you should understand - this is totally normal for women. No matter if the photos were taken in the studio or outside. I don't know anything about this particular lady in question, but it looks like her photos were taken by a good camera and probably a good photographer (even he's not a professional one).

Comment from Mike

There are a couple of questions I always ask myself when looking at pictures. 1. Who was taking the picture of this person. 2. Why is this person posing? Granted, a woman probably wants to put her best side on view, but when all the pictures look like they were staged I start to get suspicious.
to top ^

Comment from Dameon

Dear Russian Lady - you are absolutely correct. But in regards to this specific profile, let me just say the following. The photos posted appear to be taken in a natural setting. But I do not actually believe that they are. The magazines are strewn on the sofa perfectly. The outdoor shots have a sense of advertizement to them. They look like they have come out of a Sear's Catalogue. I am not saying that this woman is a scammer, but unlike Larisa a few weeks back, I cannot say that she is not. But it would be nice if Berny can provide the text of the letters he received. Again, it is wonderful to hear from you Russian Lady. You bring a great sense of being and enlightment to many of us who have never been to your country. You also seem to understand the frustration of those who have been scammed or who are pissed that there are people out there doing this. I look forward to getting to Moscow next summer (I hope).

Comment from Mike

If you remember Larisa, I believe, from a few weeks back, there was quite a campaign to get her removed from this list because it seemed the guy who posted her had just such an agenda. After over 100 posts by readers, most of them in favor of her name being removed, the Web Administrator did remove her.

Comment from Russian lady

Yes, I agree with you, dear men, that 99 per cent of people on those free dating sites are scammers with stolen model photos (so, my advise for you would be to use decent marriage agencies that CAN provide a proof that the lady is real). But, 1) unless it is proven that the photos belong to some other person (and therefore, this is identity theft, but the scammer himself is not a real person), OR 2) unless the actual scammer makes a request for money, I believe this is impossible to define whether the person is a scammer or not. Of course, given that there are no photos of the same person published on all the other blacklists with proper proofs. Gentlemen, I also want you to remember that there are many indecent people amongst men as well. They often try to ruin the reputation of the lady if she has simply refused to communicate with them, or if she did not like them during the meeting. And the black lists often don't even request for any real proofs or details, as long as they can blacklist a one more person, who might only be guilty in looking too pretty and being selective. Please take that into consideration as well.
to top ^

Comment from Dameon

That is why some have asked Berny to provide more information. If she does not appear anywhere else, then perhaps she needs to be removed from here.
to top ^

Comment from Mike

That's what some of us are trying to determine, Russian lady. There's not enough info here to call this a scam by the standards set forth by this site, yet they ran the profile anyway. WA...can you clear this matter up for us?
to top ^

Comment from Russian lady

So Gents, what did the girl do? Now you blacklist ladies when they just want to correspond from the private email, not through the dating site? I have looked through that page: http://www.womenrussia.com/blackpage463.htm And she's not anywhere on there! Or... do I not recognize her, or what? So? I thought there is a presumption in the free world of "not being guilty, unless proven otherwise".
to top ^

Comment from Mike

Berny - we all need to hear from you. Did she ask for money?
to top ^

Comment from Dameon

First - Good Monday to all. It is possible that Berny did not check off the box that allows letters to be published on the profile. And Anon below says that he ran into this one also. And Berny is providing another scam site that has this one already posted. That is a pretty good indication that this one is a scammer.

Comment from Monday Morning Roamer

I feel the same about it! I really don't see the scam that is purported by Berny.....Maybe if he had some letters stating that she wanted money....
to top ^

Comment from Anonymous

She claims to have a car accident just a week before she is supposed to come meet you in the states, and of course needs money. I have met at least two other people with identical word for word letters. And I did call her, very smart very convincing. Has used different pictures than the ones posted here as well. Watch out for the Green BMW.....

Comment from OJ Simpson

If she was my lady, I would get her to the clinic for a nice breast augmentation job - and have her bleach her hair too. Maybe she would need a smack or two every now and then - but she would be so very happy knowing that she was by ho.

I agree with you guys, BUT...two things....first, Russian women on match.com or yahoo.com are an automatic scam, I'm sorry...secondly, read up a little about THIS site right here - and the sites that your friendly webmaster runs...and think for a second if he gives two sh*ts WHAT is posted.

Comment from Mike

I have been wondering the same thing. This site won't post a scammer I have been in contact with because she never asked me for money. Yet the scammer is listed on a couple of other scammer sites. Now they post Berny's "scammer" but there's no proof of a scam. What gives?
to top ^

Comment from freddyboy

Maybe I am just a little slow today but I can't understand what the scam is she committed. What did she do wrong to earn her a place on a scammers web site?? I don't see any request for money. Just a few different e-mail addresses...what am I missing here?

Comment from Wombat

Looks can be deceiving, eh Berny ? Good catch !!Thanks for the posting & the warning.
