My friends, my friends, I think our time here is so much better than the way it was in the past.......Mostly from the past is was just some of us from the "US" sharing, and now we are uniting worldwide in our efforts to attempt to stop some of these scammers.......Now we have friends from Britain, Australia, Ireland, Germany and all over the world.........I find this very pleasing that we all want the same and that we even actually talk and use our cameras so that we can see each other too......Most of all I personally am glad that "Old Wombat" is back...Thanks for coming back our old sage!!!!

Unfortunately most of the girls in Oz have become like a lot of American women - "What have you done for me - Today?"

At last some decent talent on here!Been a bit slow lately!
One site I have found to be quite good is Slavicbridge.com.
Although I haven't bothered for quite a while,their rates a very reasonable & they do have a very tough anti-scam policy.
I
saw a photo of a scammer on both Anastasia & Slavic & advised them both.She was taken off the same day with Slavic & with Anastasia the whore was still there a week later!
I found out the hard way,that with Anastasia,it's not the women you have to watch out for being the scammer,but the fucking agency itself!
THEY would initiate a lot of letters & obviously the translators would get a commission.
After spending around $300 or so on these "letters" I finally smartened up!Asked for up to date photos & the excuses would come.
Then I started asking the company hard questions & before long I was blocked!There were a couple of genuine ladies but certainly not worth the dosh,I think then was $8 per letter each way!
Army-of-brides exactly the same MO,although they seemed to have more genuine ladies!
And with Facebook,you need to know someones name before you can search for them,so I think that using FB for a date site as such is an epic fail,although eventually through "friending" people you come across some hotties - depends on your taste though!

Results Zero!!--Why?-because although they also had a zero tolerance policy towards scammers-there still some who slipped through the net. It was about 50/50-either they informed me that a lady was a scammer, or I found out and reported her. I still recall one in particular-she seemed genuine, a doctor, even wrote and told me about her daily work etc. Then one day I was informed by the site admin that she was a scammer!--That was in the days before I learned how to trace IP's!!

In 2005 I used "Lovetopping"(www.lovetopping.net) agency and that was 80-90% void of scammers.The admin were strict and if you reported any sheila for shonky behaviour etc etc, they would remove within 24 hours.
One thing that always alerted me to a possible scammer, was when they put their preferred man's age range to be up to 65 years old, when the sheila was only 35-45 years of age.
A few I tried out,just for the hunting exercise, all proved to be scammers...which I reported and were subsequently removed.
When I eventually "resigned" from the site and advised admin' that I was getting married to a Peruvian lady, they actually sent me a reply,wishing me happiness and thanking me for my active site participation.
So,there you go !! :-)

Thanks for that feedback Forrest. There are so many agencies out there, that it is impossible-except by 'personal reference/experience'-to know which are genuine. p.s. I hope that your (now) declared age of 57- coincides with the age you have put on your profile at 'Eharmony'-or you will be in trouble with the admin of that site?!-lol

One "genuine" site is eharmony.com. You have to fill out a lot of personal info and they try to match you with others of similar interests. That site tends to cut down on scammers because a lot of work is involved in filling out a profile. And brother Dameon.....you mean to say all these beautiful women from Russia who are writing this bald 57 year old are not really interested in me? But they sound so sincere, especially when I always write a one line letter asking for a picture of them holding a hat in one hand and a coat in the other. I always get these very long responses about their lives, but no response to my request. Are they just toying with me? :)

I suppose what I am still..asking--is are there ANY genuine dating agencies out there?!-Yes its true that I noticed some beautiful ladies in Kiev,-back in 2003-but getting to know them---??! James, yes I happen to greatly appreciate the Latin type of woman, its a place to visit-on 'my to do list'-when I win the lottery!

ppantherp - it truly is unlikely that a lot of these women are on any dating sites. Most hot chicks under 30 are going to take their chances in real-life social situations. The pix that are of real chicks are usually downloaded from their personal pages in Europe, similiar to sites like myspace and facebook......James - there are beautiful women everywhere. But you will see more model types just walking the streets of East Europe, especially in Kiev.

Re 'going there and looking around'>> done that, 'got the T shirt and video set'. Not to be advised without a definitive plan of action. I've personally been to: Russia, Lithuania(never again!), and Kiev. Not been to Latin America though.
