np John ... i forgot to add that sometimes you may get an ip addy that shows california, yahoo an google both show up for there as that's the main server for those companies, if that's the only location that shows, the scammer is hidin the origin ip. how they do that i don't know, i'm more of a hardware guy an not that up on a lot of the software stuff u can do with emails and such. just thot i'd pass that one on as i forgot yesterday.

Kitzell5, Thanks for reply.

greetings John, no, if the city is 'A' .. the sender is in that city. the ip address does come from the provider yes but each server is identified by part of that address, or so i've been told by one of the engineers from my provider. i tested it with my own ip addy and it was accurate for the city, but here in the UK there's no database that gives out a postal addy with the ip info, that's illegal here (at least in Scotland without a court order). so the ip will give the city and country but the city is the one where the mail originates from. unless the scammer is good enough to mask that and bounce it around some for a false reading, and not many are that intelligent to even think of that. hope this clarifies a bit m8?

Kitzell5. Can I ask you a question? Copied header of e mail into that website. Lets say it says the city is "A" and the country is "B". Does that mean that the Internet provider is in city "A" or does it mean the sender is in city "A". Is it possible that the sender could live in a totally different city and country than the Internet provider? I hope this makes sense to you. Thanks

ok ... so she claimed to b in love? and once again a scammer found a victim who believed the bullshit. here's a little bit of advice to you my friend, and to all others out there. when u receive an email from any foreign woman, open the email headers and copy and paste it to www.headertool.apelord.com ... just paste in the entire header and let the program run, it will give you the location of the ip address, and in some cases even a postel address and business name if it's listed. this way you know the 'woman' is writing from where she says she is. and if any 'woman' from yoshkar ola, sumy, kazan write, BEWARE, it's probably a scumbag Ivan or Boris using stolen pics. and FFS .. WILL U LOT STOP SENDING MONEY TO A BLOODY PICTURE. MOST DATING SITES WARN ABOUT THAT. READ THE INFO ON THE SITE BEFORE YOU CONTACT ANY WOMAN. good advice that we're givin but some of you still ignore it.
