As I have read everyone's comments I am reminded that I have spent so much, not by sending money to someone I have met, but by trying to meet someone I had been writing to and then they are NOT who they said they were... Some of you know my situation now ( with Polina and her move to the USA), but I can assure everyone wanting to read these words... meeting and falling in love with someone on the other side of the globe is NOT CHEAP... and NOT EASY!! So many obstacles must be overcome and so much patience from both people speaking 2 different languages is necessary. I can tell everyone, I met someone 38 years old (I am 43)... We met 3 times and I thought she was perfect until she had someone translate something I said in jest and it was misunderstood. She felt I had betrayed her trust when I had only mentioned something every American might say on a date... We went dancing and she was drinking (I do not drink)... She noticed this and asked if I was afraid she was going to get me drunk and take "advantage of me??"... I laughed and told her she would not need to get me drunk in order for this to happen.... then... ALL HELL broke loose... Go figure... It was an innocent comment made at 3 am when I was feeling very comfortable with her.... and to her, I had said the wrong thing... I left with her and she argued with me thinking I was telling everyone the ONLY thing I wanted was intimacy... Now WHO in America would ever get that from what was said... Cultural differences and language mishaps are all too common and relationships can die quickly when a misunderstading like this occurs... I hope something I have said might help someone remember to keep their wits about them... not just in letters... but also when meeting... ANYTHING can (and usually the unexpected DOES)... happen...

Hey guys, I just received another letter from Victoria Leonova today. Said her electricity went out at wotk, stayed until 12:00a.m. just to write me. Says she kept asking electrician when power would be turned back on. She should have read my last letter. I was a little angry with her, to say the least. These people really have allot of fricken nerve. You want to believe, but you know that it's a big B.S. line that is about to come. One of the guys suggested that I ask for her to take a picture of her holding a picture of me with her. Great suggestion. I'll do that. I thought about using another computer, somewhere else, and act as though I was another family member, and tell her to quit writing, because I committed suicide after learning the truth about her. But if counsel is still out their, is that something I can get into trouble for myself? I thought that just might stop the contacts. I don't think Incognito was talking about package deliveries. There are many ways to screw with the scammers as Forrest said. If anyone here thinks that they will start having some fun with scammers; I suggest you set up a secondary e-mail address and not use your normal everyday e-mail. Second, do like the scammers do and download photos of some model or actor and use them. Sometimes I like using photos of Keith Richards. Remember, some of these scams actually originate in the good ole USA. My new thing is telling them that I am a Russian Immigrant to the USA and have found American women to be boorish and that I wish I can find a nice woman of my own ilk. I wonder where this will take me.

To everyone who is still writing him/her - when the request for money comes in, go along and continue the game. Send him/her a fake 10 digit number along with your full name and address; however, not your real name. For example; I usually use the last name "Inourascama". I tell them I am Italian. I give my address as 666 No Chance Ave. When the scammer shows up at Western Union with this information, they are usually questioned and laughed at. You can also take it one step further and contact Western Union and tell them what you are doing. They might make the scammers life even more miserable. The scammer will come back to you asking what happened and you apologize and tell them that you made a mistake with the 10 digit number. Change the last number and give to them again. Believe me, they will try to cash in again. And they will look like a fool again. These Ivan's are really not that bright. Also, ask the scammer to send a photo of herself holding one of the pictures you sent. That usually scares the crap out of them also. If you get naked pictures, it is a guarantee that the actuall scammer is not the person in the photo. Excuse that I don't give my name here; but I don't want those scammers who do read this to be able to associate my name and my scam. P.S. - one way we can hurt this operation is to get the names they use (Which are real) blacklisted by Western Union and Money Gramme. Remember, most of these scams are coming from an organized group who use there sisters and aunts and friends to collect the money. So the names they give you are real people. If we shut down those names; it becomes a little more difficult for them.

Hey Jim, they probably do have some sort of scripts memorized, complete with the names of guys that call in person, so they don't mess up and use the wrong name like calling you Fred or something else.....As far as the letters, they are stored on their computers and forwarded that way....The same letter might be sent out dozens of times per week......I call them "progressive letters" and are really generalized to fit into just about any situation...I think that they are similar to the cut and paste letters....Go to google and type in a paragraph from one of her letters or even a few sentences and you will see....

Wow! I should have read on guys. I'm sorry to hear all of this is going on. But it really broke my heart to see all of this. SHe is sending beautiful pictures but they look nothing like her picture on the wab. I have the one in the Pink Sweater. The one in the white dress with a very dark background. The bikini shot with her in the river. THe bowling alley one with her(probably scammer friends). Pictures of her brother sister-in-law and 2 adorable kids. Picture of her girlfriend Elena and her. Heard story of how she got lost in the forest as a young child and brother Dmitry, wondered in after she was missing 4 days and found her. I have saved every letter except the very first one. One wonder she only writes once a week. It's a full-time proposition to write all of us guys to extort money and gifts as she and the others are doing. I feel like a fool. Hurt. But like a fool. An old man who should have known better than to buy into this crap. Oh, by the way, I sent flowers, yea. But I have notified the card company to stoop payment on the purchase under the fraud guidelines. THey'll credit my account. Stop and reissue a new card and new number. Because I think Florist-ru is involved. That i swho she refers me to. And she punctuatesd it with, he rgirlfriends husband, Rod in Australia, went thru them because they were the only ones to deliver to Izluchinsk, Russia. As you can see we are all trying to curb this scamming crap and we all try to share info with everyone..One thing that I believe, is that some of these scamming groups get very pissed off when they are either caught or get turned down after awhile and then send nasty viruses etc...Maybe they think that if our computers are rendered useless, that they have a less likely chance of getting caught...But their day will come and hopefully it's in jail, bending over for "Bubba"!!!! Some of these scammers can be ruthless.....A few years ago my sister was being stalked on-line and this guy was going through all her e-mails and all of her records...Hell this guy knew when she was IM-ing her girlfriends about when they would meet at the gym or spa....Even knew what recipes she was sharing etc.....I got involved and the FBI internet Crimes Division was all over it like flies on shit...And my sister was in the Marine Corp and she knows how to protect herself, but this guy really scared her bad...The FBI took her computer and was able to find this guy and he was imprisoned for quite some time...When you think that someone is attempting to give you trouble, just add his e-mail to your anti-spam list and that should end the problem...Glad your back and have a great day.....

Hey BP...This IS very interesting!!! Can you tell I'm on a computer...Finally! It appears these stories dragging out are common. Buying time in order to access our personal info & gaining entry into victims computers...I mean the money is something they go for, but obviously there is way more to this whole thing than just simply scamming some cash out of us! I mean this guy is really pissed at me, I have had to revamp everything! Just to be on the safe side...I have no Idea how far he would attempt to take this! We just don't know which one or who we are dealing with...It's all a mystery! But I think if we come up with a systematic approach as they have in getting the word out ASAP, force the sites to have better security etc, etc...It would have to be planned out & methodical like the scammers! I just wrote to her saying that the amount she requested did not sound like it was enough and that I could get the funds to her faster if she would give me the name of her bank and account number. It does not ever hurt to call the FBI, ask for their help , explain that a bunch of us have been set up , and have sent flowers , gifts , poor Joe Sapien got clipped for 1400 , they can easily find him inhouse , and call either the Russian or US Embassy and tell them the story . Tell them many of us are prepared to come forward and the the trap is ready to be sprung . The FBI has a job to do , and are duty bound to make a referral or give advice. All the letters, photos and the phone message are carefully disguised and very hard to trace. I deleted everything and am moving on. What do you guys even know about this site? It's great to have a place to vent, but have you checked the name of some of these sponsors and some of the fees they charge? How do you know the scammers aren't seeing this? I know there is a list of females who have scammed someone.....but really....show me one that hasn't. I got scammed to by the same women, but was smart enough to know better. Anyone that sends money need to re-evaluate they're life. Post it and move on.

5/31/07 Got a new letter after about two weeks. I have recived 26 emails and no request for money yet but I did get two new photos. I have asked if she has ever gotten the CD's that I sent no answer, it rare that she will answer a question, but I'll keep them comming. I guess I was just about to become another sucker. I've been falling for this one. My family was even excited about it. Never again. Don't know what my next step should be but the last letter I recieved was that she was going to be out of the clinic for about two months because of building renovations and that the timing was perfect because she was due for a vacation. She did say that she would be covering all of her expenses and that she was going to use her savings to come and meet me. I told her to wait because I am to busy right now. this is to funny...the only thing i was doing was putting in her city izluchinsk to see what part of the country she was in on google...and all the sudden i see her name and a pic...i thought what the...so i took a look an see that everyone was saying she was a scammer...i thought holy shit! what a bitch! yeah im going to fuck with her...lol...i kinda thought something was funny in the first letter she said she was 25...then it was her b-day and wanted flowers and that she was 29 now...lol...needless to say she didnt get any flowers from me...yeah i think ill shoot for some nudies too!

William69, you are about 2 weeks behind, I got the apple pie letter weeks ago. I like the the life insurance idea, go for it. I started with something new after the last email, I am telling her how hot she makes me and I want nude photos of her, what do you think, is it shaved? Hey Roamer, I did send her something just to see if it would get there and no I didn't spend any money other than the cost of a stamp, just burned a few CD's. Hey Mark, if you have her physical address, tell her that you will be sending her something nice and pretty, then keep asking her if she received it yet...That will keep her on for quite sometime...Then tell her that someone must have stolen it from her mailbox...Tell her to look around the neighborhood to see who has the new "Gucci" purse.... Don't stop making her run around yet...You can even send her something cheap and tell her that you wanted to see if she got it before you send her something more valuable...If she is kept busy, then she won't have all of her time to scam someone else.....

Hey you guys, can't you see my heart is breaking, I am the only one for her, that is what I've been told. I recived an email, maybe she doesn't read the comments here after all, or she is just trying a last ditch effort. So now I've been told that our realationship is based on her trust and honesty, what a load of BS. Do I drop the hammer and let her know that I know all about her scams or do I string this out and play along? I am waiting until she ask for money and then I'll tell her I need her bank and account number so that I send the funds, if I get it I will post it here for everybody. Hey Mark, we all have wondered that ourselves...I guess the bottom line is that it would be detrimental to all of these scammer sites, by that I mean that alot of sites are aware that scammers use them, and if they told you about them, they would lose profits....Also, one thing that I like to do is go to these dating sites and review all of the women that are listed and see if I can spot the known scammers and then report them to the site...And by reviewing these dating sites I have come to find the real legitimate ones...And they are out there and are scammer free, at least for now...

To Anon Newspaper, that could prove to be a challenging task. For us here who don't have all of the expertise and the tools available, it has been a daunting thing. My suggestion would be to go back in the past on this site and find out the scammers that have been arrested...Check with the "FSUs" law enforcement agencies to see how many arrests are made annually and what the charges were...How about what the punishments were and if any retributions were made to those that were innocent victims....I myself have tried in the past to search for these facts, but have always entered a maze of other bureaus and agencies that haven't amounted to a hill of beans.... But then again, maybe I'm not looking at the right sites.. It does get very frustrating for someone who does not have all the time or resources available at their disposal...And that's like a bunch of us here...Even though we all try to share all of our info garnered with one another, we are still limited with our knowledge about the successes, that law enforcement agencies have accomplished....Any help from you would definitely make more than a statement here, it could possibly lead to more arrests and therefore a safer place to find real women...

In response to all who want these scammers to pay for their ill gotten gains, as most of you know, I have commented more than I ever wish to remember about the many different approaches that can be achieved in our attempts to slow down this internet plague.... As we shut down one scammer, more and more pop up.......I am beginning to see that we have more than just a trend here, with our inability to make a dent in the cesspool of these criminals, and yes they are criminals......If the law enforcement agencies over there are as corrupt as we all think that they must be, then we will ultimately fail in our endeavors to stop this scourge.....Crime and corruption always breeds the same in all civilizations....It has been the downfall of many great cultures and societies throughout history....I'm beginning to feel that maybe we just need to let them destroy themselves.....But being the sympathetic person that I am, I am just sick and tired of seeing all of these men, looking for love, lose small fortunes......And that really pisses me off most of all, It's not about their stupidity anymore that makes me want to slap them and say, "What were you thinking about when you sent them money"??? Gentleman , I have sent a terse prepare to get sued letter to true.scam , and talked to a friend in international law enforcement , who is friends with a retired big time Russian chief of police . We are working on a few angles and you cool guys can help ? Any ideas help . Izluchinsk is a remote ,poor town of only 16,000 or so people . Running an ad with her picture and a reward might be fun ? We could quote her absolute distain for russian men , her rebuke of them as dumb ,brutal , drunk, abusive and filthy , sexually incapable and vile , which she claims many times..and let some of our fine Russian male friends find her and send her our collective best regards...HeeHee ! Also, her superior to , and above most attitude should make her popular with her neighbors ! The only real impact we can have is to at least put enough pressure on the American online sites like True; Match, Yahoo and American Singles to do a better job in watching the profiles they allow to be posted.

How to put these people out of business has been an ongoing debate. I don't see that the Russian and other FSU governments will take any action unless there's some incentive for them to do so. As individuals, we are pretty much powerless to take any meaningful action. My opinion is that our governments must put the pressure on these countries to police themselves. That will require the carrot and stick approach. Dangle a big enough carrot......with the threat of a huge stick if steps aren't taken......and maybe those countries will start to clean things up. But from what I have read and heard about Russia, corruption is becoming a way of life and it will be very hard to change their way of thinking. Others disagree with my approach, and that's fine. Maybe it will take several different approaches to close down these scammer operations.
