You are right, Dameon, a Ukrainian lady will never say that she is Russian ( exception, when she speaks of her nationality as a lot of Russians live in Ukraine although they are all considered to be Ukrainian citizens ). Wow - now this is some kind of sharing. Roamer - stay cool my friend. B.P. - in the larger Russian and FSU cities, interacial couples are seen. In the smaller ones, I would doubt it very much. Gentlemen - I have said before and I will say again; if it is your intention to truly look for a woman from Russia or East Europe; please check out some of the legitimate agencies that are out there. They can be expensive, but the reason for that makes sense. They keep things above board as best they can. For those of us who patrol the free sites looking to pick out a scammer or two to make their life miserable; enjoy and have fun. Mike - if you really want to meet someone from Russia or a FSU country, just travel to the city you hate. The immigration rate from these countries to NY has been staggering over the last few years. They usually travel here on a student visa. My dear Russian Lady - as always, your insight is very valuable. But I do think that much can be learned from this arrest. And I pray that you are not Mike's lost twin sister, because that would mean that there is another Sawx fan out there. As for your friend; I wish her well. Hey, BP, the couple I know visited Russia this past summer. She left 1st, with their 6 month old child. She stayed with family for 2 months with the baby. He joined them in the middle of that time period for 2 weeks. Aeroflot 1st class tickets Los Angeles - Moscow (13 hours in the air) - are a bargain.

Hi Black Panther - I know a mixed race couple, American / Russian. It has worked well for them, they had their first child and are planning their 2nd. He met her when he was in Russia for several months assignment - out in the boonies as I recall, Perm. No dispersions to their racially mixed marriage has ever been suggested by his Russian inlaws.

This 'Russian Lady', if she really is who she claims to be, is almost 100% fluent in American English. The correct use of the word 'busted' below is impressive. I do not believe that Brits or Aussies would use this word - Wombat please comment. Certainly I have never heard this word from any of my many Canadian relatives - so Freddyboy please comment also. I question the jaded view of all events inside of Russia. Yes, there are problems there, and yes, corruption is wide spread. But the Russians that I have known have never stated to me that 'everything' in Russia happens because of corruption. A lot yes, but not everything. Even Putin the other day announced that he plans step down after this term per the requirements of their Constitution. So at least in this one instance - and this one major instance - the law is being followed in Russia.

Russian Lady - I think you will find that many of the men looking for "love" on these dating sites are really just looking for a cheap thrill, a good time. They aren't really serious about getting serious. It's the same for many of the women on those sites.I have looked at many women on those sites and for many it's a gathering place. They get to make new friends from afar and learn a little more about other cultures. I think if people on these sites realized the hardhips involved in finding a mate from another country...financial, legal, etc., they would give up their search. I know that I won't probably find my "soul mate" through one of those dating sites unless she's a local gal, but that doesn't stop me from making new friends from other countries.

I simply think that if, instead of telling the actual amount, which was probably hundreds of thousand dollars, they only mentioned about 15 thousand, there must be some really special reason for that. Just think a little: it's IMPOSSIBLE to buy 3 cars, 2 apartments, etc for just 15 thousand dollars. So, that's the 1st lie. 2) Think some more: This name "Alena Fedorovskaya" was used a lot in scams, but the photos never belonged to the lady they show in the picture, she was probably just the one receiving cash with her passport. The photos used were always of Anastasia Smirnova photomodel and other models. So, 2nd lie. You can say those are small lies. OK, but how many others are there? But I think, they (news) have not presented the real facts (whatever they are) for us.
