It isn't a crime to ask for money anywhere, when it is truly needed.....But when toying with feelings and emotions, well thats just wrong....I have never been taken by the so called women, but then I'm smart enough not to part with my hard earned money to anyone I haven't met in person...With the exception of Uncle Sam......And I'm not a cheapskate either....It's just wrong to enable them.....Kinda like giving an old junkie a set of works and some smack and saying don't regress to the way you once were.....

NEVER SEND MONEY. As to the comments about the Embassies what do you expect them to do? They are not in the business of law enforcement. That is not their responsibility. Technically, even if the girl is real and you send money, she can change her mind, keep the money and never speak to you again. She is under no legal obligation to do anything just because you sent money.

Don't feel so bad....it's happened to many of us, and only AFTER it's too late do we find out about sites like this. Hopefully, not too much money is lost in the process to these criminals. What bothers me is that I, too, lost $700 before I found this site...and contacting consulates in US, US Embassies in Russia/Ukraine, and Western Union have all proved worthless. WU I can see - but ZERO help from consulates and embassies? And I mean ZERO.
THAT's what really frosts my ass.

Good morning all. I know this site is usually found by people who have been scammed after the fact and for those, I am sorry for your loss. But for those who have found this site and are in the middle of correspondence with someone; please be alert to the following: 1)Look at the pictures; specifically the wardrobe. If it looks like she is well dressed and wearing a different outfit in every picture, then there is a good chance that she has some spending money. However, most young women from the FSU and Russia are taught at a very young age that appearance is important. And if you are getting skin pix, then she is not really looking for a relationship. 2)Read the actual letters and look for cut/paste phrases and/or obvious errors. Male scammers who use stolen photos almost always make a mistake or two. Use your computer search engines and enter sentences from the first paragraph of the first letter. There is a good chance that the sentence will pop up with a scammer attached to it.3)Requests for Visa's can only be filed by the individual using Pony Carrier ($100). An agent cannot do this for a person, even at a higher fee; or at least this is what I have been told. 4)Finally, if you they say that it is too dangerous to travel to them, let the Alarm Bells in your head go off. These cities are no more dangerous than any middle sized American city. - Please stop falling in love with sweet words and pretty pictures. Big Sis; is there anything else you can add?

Sorry to hear you lost money to these scammers but look at the bright side, you learned something for the future, never trust anyone who says she loves you over the net & without even meeting her. Next time just go there & meet them & if they said you should not go to their country, be 100% sure they are scammers. NEVER SEND MONEY
