Yes. The African scammers seem to have standard scenarios: someone stole a large amount of money, someone is 'trapped' in Africa during a business or vacation trip and similar stories. The Russian scammers use the visa / airfare or translation scams most of the time. Only rarely do the Russian get into the terrible car crash, heart attack, etc. etc. scam as these stories come out only after the visa / passport / airticket were 'paid' but now the Russian suddenly can not travel because of the 'emergency'. I have read several articles about both the Africans and Russians - they get together and have brainstorming sessions to review how their scams have succeeded, and how they can come up with new twists to their stories to pull in new marks.

Good point James. I have always carefully looked at grammer. It is usally a give away.

Note that the grammer used is very good. However the error of word usage are MHO clear markers of an African scammer. The scammer uses the word 'absconded' correctly, then uses 'brekeup' rather than breakup and 'cos' rather than because, as two examples the native speak of the scammer slipping into the body of a document that the scammer has taken a lot of effort to achieve the apparently legitimate.

"Her", if indeed this scammer is a female, emails should be sent with full headers to Yahoo. They will close the account. This will only be an inconvenience to the scammer - but it will force the scammer to lose contact will all current marks that the scammer is working - or send those marks an email about how 'that email does not work now for some reason' or 'good news! I have a new email address and you can write to me...'. Both should serve as a big warning to anyone who is guilble enough to believe all of this gibberish - it the mark has at least half a brain.

Listen to this guys, this is a very old scam, you will end up going there & then she will show you a receipt for the safety deposite box & tells you that she has to pay a fee to get then released. All this shit to con you out of a few thousand $. They also check you out to see if you have money or some family who have money in your home town, then they will hold you to collect money from your family abroad, so do the right thing & never ever trust anything remotely linked with Nigeria because they are just a bunch of scamming con artists. Good luck to all
