Yeah she is good....but a scammer just the same. She tried the same story on me too. Stopped all comm after I told her I was supporting my parents. Phone number didn't check out either. She would have really freaked out if I had told her I was a former US MArshall.

I'm not certain that this is a scammer or not. I spoke to her at the phone number which she provided, in the 205 area code, which is in Alalbama. The second time she called me. I guess that I will find out on Saturday, 6/17. She gave me a flight number on which she is supposed to arrive in Las Vegas. The flight number checks out as one which arrives in Las Vegas at the time she stated, from JFK, New York. We shall see!!!

No - it's a scam. I figured it was, but you didn't show the letter in the posting, so I had to ask. Thanks for showing another new face to the site. It is all becoming so pathetic.

It is a scam. You promises to pay back a 'loan'? But money is hard to come by in Russia, or is she not being truthful about that? And the fact that she claimed to be in the country, but could not find time to return a phone message is another big warning sign. If you still have all the email messages look at the headers and see the ISPs of the so called US emails. Reverse search the ISPs and you should find servers in Russia. If you do find servers in the USA...this indeed is a strange and very elaborate scam - but a scam never the less.

Dameon, No, she just wanted me to send her money on some loan that she had. this is the last email that I got from her after I told her that I did not have the money. "My dear I understand you. I shall simply come back to the USA little bit later. And we cannot meet during my holiday. It is very sad. Trust. I was in the USA I know that such 630 $ there. These are small money. In my city to earn this money it is necessary to work 2 months. Borrow this money a Will be problem here. But I shall try find people who will help me. You doubt of me? I do not understand why. Sveta" My reply to this email was that I was not able to send her the money at this time. She then sent this email: "My dear I understand you. But also you understand. I in Russia. You in the USA. Here there are no such opportunities as there. I very much appreciate your honesty. You can can borrow this money? I shall arrive to you and itself I shall promise to return this money approximately in 2 or 3 weeks." So from this, I feel that it is a scam. What do you think???

I don't want to assume, so I must ask this question. Did she ask for you to pay for her return trip back to the U.S.? You did not make mention of the scam.

Did you do a Google search on her phone number to see what turned up?
