Well I finally got the money shot on Nov 4. I played along with her, suggesting it would be cheaper for me to buy her air tickets. It went quiet for about 10 days, then she mailed saying she had been ill with a fever & unable to visit the internet cafe. Said because she was in Armenia she could only get a visa be enrolling on the program. She asked me to send the money via Western Union to Republic of Armenia,Yerevan, Khorenaci 115,building 38, appartment 16 to be collected by Avertisian Artur who she claims is her grandfather. I then sent 'her' a very nasty reply, saying I'd been onto it all along. Strangely, I've heard nothing from 'her' since!!

This scammer is working on me at the moment. Hasn't got to the money shot yet, but her last message (27 Oct) talked about her registering on a cultural exchange program to come to UK. Said she needed to be registered by 15 Nov. I've had exactly the same story & photos (plus additional photos)AND she also located me through datingdirect. In my last reply I told her that I only earned an average salary (which is true). As of today (Nov 1) I haven't had a response, but she only mails me once per week, claims she has to use an internet cafe. Haven't been able to find her profile on any other anti-scam site, so I'm glad I looked here. Not that I would have sent money.

Hi Roamer - You are my friend, but what you are reading here is true when it comes to the salaries of many Drs. from Russia and the FSU. I met 2 doctors at a party when I was in Moldova. I nearly fell off my chair when they told me what they made. A stcok boy in Walmart makes more money then they do. Many of them need to supplement their income with a second job. It is a different world there; in some ways it is absolutley beautiful, in another ways, not so much.

I agree with Freddyboy Canada. Believe me, Roamer, I live in this crazy country of Ukraine where doctors are paid less than workers of any plant. It is absurd but still it is truth...Of course, there are some private clinics where doctors are well paid but there are not many of them in my country.

Roamer Fudd my old buddy, when I was heavily involved with my scammer girlfriend from Sumy, Ukraine [she scammed me] one of the topics I was interested in was why so many Doctors quite being a doctor to do something else. She explained that doctors are paid by the government and according to the funds the government may have available. Usually a Doctors salary is anywhere up to 4 months behind, a lot of them find employment elsewhere because no one can live on NO income for 4 months. I have had correspondence with more than one woman who was once a doctor but is now a sales clerk or sectretary or something else that provides a stable income. Most of them said that their current job paid more than being a doctor. I'm like you and find it really hard to believe when you see how well our Doctor's are paid. But I have got the same story many times over.

Give me a freakin break, if you think that for one instance I would believe that load of crap, you need to remain anonymous.......Being a Doctor would definitely bring more prestige to their lives...So what if they aren't paid as well as our Doctors, they still earn more than the rest of their co-nationals......Think man think.....Would you trade your job as a nurse to become a garbageman????? I didn't think so!!!!

Unfortunately, Roamer, physicians in Russia and physicians in USA and other countries of the world have a big difference in salary. Doctors in Russia are really paid not well. So, it can be true that it is better to work as horse trainer than a doctor. I just wanted you to know this fact. But it does not mean that I tried to defend this lady.

Comment from roamer the new sage

Let me get this straight!!!! I'm a Pediatric Doctor, with endless possibilities to have a real decent life, but I would rather shovel horse shit and wash and groom horses all day!!!!! Wow, what was I thinking, taking up all of those Professors time, trying to become a Physician????? Maybe it's the aneseptic smell thats unpleasant for her.......Poor, poor darling....
