# Scam scenarios: money for travel
# Details: Valeriya Skida sent several nice emails and photos of herself and provided a couple of heart wrenching stories about her past before declaring her love her me and making plans to visit me in the United States.rnrnShe said that she talked to a "Travel Agency" who said they could arrange for her passport, visa, and police check for 586 euros, but claimed that if I couldnt help her she would wait for me to visit her.rnrnI responded that I would be glad to help her and asked for the Travel Agencys name and phone number so I could help her arrange for payment, but she reponded by telling me that she went to a bank and the bank manager told her that the safest way to send money would be to use Western Union and her English improved drasticaly when she gave me excellant instructions on what I needed to do to send the money. She also claimed that a bank transfer wouldnt work because the bank would require her to desposit $300 to start up an account in her name.rnrnSomething didnt feel quite right so I asked for her phone number again so I could talk to her in person as well as asking for the Travel Agencys information once again so I could make sure that they werent taking advantage of us.rnrnI also asked for pictures of her family because every picture that she sent was careful to show only her and towards the end some of the pictures struck me as somewhat racy.rnrnShe never responded to my email or my follow-up email and started logging onto the Cherry Blossoms website again.
