# Details: I have been communicating with this woman (or whoever)since February. She claims to be a doctor who was selected to be in a foreign exchange program to go to the USA to work in a hospital for a year, possibly longer. (Now I know that no state in the US will let a doctor practice medicine without state licensure.) Her English is way too good to be Russian. Classical scammer behavior. Her e-mail changed after the first message, and then her name changed from "Kalinka" to "Violetta" around the third e-mail. I tell her information about myself and family and friends, and then a few messages later she asks for that same information. Plus she never answers any of my questions, and doesn't seem to pay any attention to what I write. To test her, I sent her Bible verses about the suffering servant just to see if she really reads my messages, and she replied "nice poem. I like it". We have e-mailed each other weekly for about 3 months. I was wondering when the scam was going to start. Now she says she is due to arrive in New York City on May 10, but her trade union has not yet provided the funds for her to come. I'll wait to see what happens on or after May 10--I'm sure she'll ask me for the money to get her over then. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
